Mount Emei

Emei Mountain Scenic Area stands in the southwest of the Sichuan Basin, 7 kilometers southwest of Emeishan City, 37 kilometers east of Leshan City. The scenic area covers an area of 154 square kilometers, and the highest peak is about 1099 meters above sea level. It is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. There are about 26 temples, and there are eight major temples, and Buddhists events are frequently launched here. Respected by the believers all over the world, it is a demonstration spot in Sichuan Scenic Area and it is a National Civilized Scenic Area. On December 6, 1996, the Leshan Giant Buddha of Emei Mountain was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO as a double heritage of culture and nature.

It is one enough to visit Emeishan within 1-day trip. Tickets and scenic cars are used for two days. It is recommended to play at Mount Emei at least one and a half days. It is best for taking 3 days there. There are many places to stay and eat in the scenic spot. It is a bit expensive but acceptable. The ropeway is considered to take at the discretion of the individual’s physical strength. It is recommended to choose to have a visit the Mount Emei during the good weather, especially if you want to watch the sunrise. In addition, it is best for you to go there during the off season when there are not so crowded.
