Mount Emei

Emei Mountain Scenic Area stands in the southwest of the Sichuan Basin, 7 kilometers southwest of Emeishan City, 37 kilometers east of Leshan City. The scenic area covers an area of 154 square kilometers, and the highest peak is about 1099 meters above sea level. It is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. There are about 26 temples, and there are eight major temples, and Buddhists events are frequently launched here. Respected by the believers all over the world, it is a demonstration spot in Sichuan Scenic Area and it is a National Civilized Scenic Area. On December 6, 1996, the Leshan Giant Buddha of Emei Mountain was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO as a double heritage of culture and nature.

It is one enough to visit Emeishan within 1-day trip. Tickets and scenic cars are used for two days. It is recommended to play at Mount Emei at least one and a half days. It is best for taking 3 days there. There are many places to stay and eat in the scenic spot. It is a bit expensive but acceptable. The ropeway is considered to take at the discretion of the individual’s physical strength. It is recommended to choose to have a visit the Mount Emei during the good weather, especially if you want to watch the sunrise. There are many intercity high-speed trains every day in Chengdu East Railway Station and South Railway Station. It takes 1 hour to go to Leshan Station. Before leaving the station, there will be regular staff to guide the tourists to take the free bus to the scenic spot, which will take around half of an hour to arrive the Leshan Giant Buddha and stop at the cruise ship terminal. You can take a boat trip to see the Buddha, and the time is very short, for about half an hour. When buying a ticket of taking boat cruise, you must say whether you want to insure or not, otherwise the ticket seller will directly ask you for the insurance money! After sailing for a while, you will arrive at the Leshan Giant Buddha. The Buddha is very tall and spectacular, and you can see the statues on the rocks on both sides.

How to go to Jiuzhaigou

Chengdu-Jiuzhaigou

Passenger transportation:

  1. Chengdu Xinnanmen Station has a shuttle bus to Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area at 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, 8:10 in the morning every day. The fare is 145 yuan/person, and the journey time is about 10 hours. Phone number is 028-85433609
  2. Chengdu Chazidian Bus Station has 3 shuttle buses to the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area before 8:40 a.m. every day. The journey takes about 10 hours. The fare is 120 yuan/person (the bus with good condition is 170 yuan/person)

Chartered bus: The price from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou is between 1200-1500 yuan.

Self-driving: Jiuzhaigou’s important land transportation is the Jiuhuan Line, which is about 920 kilometers long.

  1. The west line of the Jiuhuan Line starts from Chengdu and passes through Dujiangyan, Wenchuan, Maoxian and Songpan to Jiuzhaigou. The whole journey is about 440 kilometers.
  2. The Jiuhuan East Line starts from Chengdu and passes through Mianyang, Jiangyou, Pingwu, Jiuzhaigou County to Jiuzhaigou. The whole journey is about 480 kilometers.

Jiuhuang Airport – Jiuzhaigou

Jiuhuang Airport is located in Chuanzhusi Town, Songpan County, Aba Prefecture, about 88 kilometers from Jiuzhaigou Mouth. Jiuhuang Airport’s telephone number is available at 0837-7243770.

Passenger transportation: 1.5 hours’ drive, and the fare is 45 yuan / person, but the number of shifts is less.

Chartered bus: about 88 kilometers away, the fare is about 200 yuan. If you want to go to Huanglong to play and then go to Jiuzhaigou, the whole package charter price is about 500 yuan.

Huanglong Scenic Area – Jiuzhaigou
