Eight small islands and a network of embankments create a mosaic of lakes that hold 31 of the “72 Views of Kangxi and Qianlong.” These scenes mirror the refined beauty of Jiangnan landscapes. Notably, the “Smoke and Rain Pavilion” (Yan Yu Lou)** is a striking replica of its namesake on South Lake in Jiaxing, Zhejiang.
The Plains Area opens up into expansive grasslands once used for imperial horseback riding and hunting. This open terrain contrasts beautifully with the surrounding lushness. Further in, the **Mountain Area** beckons with towering peaks and secluded valleys. Visitors can board the mountain loop shuttle for panoramic views of landmarks like Puning Temple and the iconic Hammer Rock (Bangchui Mountain).
